The following are citizen science platforms with ongoing projects aimed at conservation research of mountain lions and other North American wildlife through the identification and classification of camera trap images:

Snapshot Wisconsin* is a citizen monitoring project to monitor populations of cougars and other wildlife through identification of thousands of camera trap photos snapped on the trails of Wisconsin.

Western Montana Wildlife Project* - Citizen scientists can assist MPG Ranch in conducting research on the restoration and ecology of wildlife habitat in Western Montana by helping them classify mountain lions and other wildlife they’ve captured in their over 5,000 camera trap images.

Cleveland Metroparks Focus on Wildlife* is a citizen science project that aims to Monitor mountain lion and other wildlife populations in the Cleveland Metroparks areas of Ohio.

Wildlife Tracker is a new app for android devices that allows the user to observe real-time mountain lion movements around their California landscape and identify camera trap photos of the animal to further conservation research in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Puma Project.
